2006 marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Brunel. The Two Pound Gold Coin contains 14.63 grams of gold (twice the weight of a Gold Sovereign). Due to their status as British Legal tender they are Capital Gains Tax Free (CGT Exempt), so they are a good choice for British investors.

Robert Evans designed this coin to reflect the famous arched roof of Paddington Station in London. Brunel designed these arches during his time as the Chief Engineer for Great Western Railway, whose chief terminus was at Paddington as part of the GWR rail route between London and Bristol.
