Silver Half Crown
Half Crown silver coins were first produced in 1549 during the reign of King Edward VI. A half crown was valued at two shillings and sixpence, which equated to an eighth of a Pound.
Crowns and half crowns had a long lifespan in British coinage, with production continuing until 1967. Only Queen Mary and King Edward VIII did not issue any half crown coins during their reigns.
Customers will receive the actual coin pictured due to the limited availability and rare nature of these coins.

The Half Crown is one of the longest running British coins, remaining largely unchanged for 400 years. Following the Great Recoinage in 1816, the Half Crown had a diameter of 32 mm, and a weight of 14.1 grams. These dimensions remained in place for the remainder of the Half Crown's lifetime. It was eventually discontinued in 1967, and demonetised in 1970, ahead of the decimalisation of British currency.
