Description

A 1999 1/10 ounce gold Krugerrand.

With 3.11 grams of gold the tenth ounce Krugerrand is the smallest Krugerrand available. It is 91.67 percent pure gold (22-carat) and 16.55 millimetres in diameter. The edge of the Krugerrand is etched with exactly one hundred-fifteen lines.

The Krugerrand is minted in Germiston, South Africa at the Rand Refinery. On its front (the obverse side) is a profile of Paul Kruger, and on the back (or the reverse side) of the coin is a springbok. These images were designed by Coert Steynberg, an African sculptor.
