The 2025 1/4oz Krugerrand gold coin minted by the Rand Refinery in South Africa.

The gold Krugerrand has been one of the the leading worldwide one ounce gold coins since it's introduction in 1967. Thanks to its success the quarter ounce gold Krugerrands were introduced in 1980 and have been manufactured with the same specifications and design ever since.

The South African 2025 quarter ounce gold Krugerrand is minted in a 22-carat gold and copper alloy, in order for it to be more resistant to scratches compared to coins minted in pure gold. Because of this the coin weighs more than a 1/4 troy ounce (8.482 grams) so that it contains exactly a 1/4 troy ounce (7.775 grams) of fine gold and has the classic reddish tint the Krugerrands are known for.
