This 2018 Proof £2 gold coin was struck to mark 100 years since the Armistice of the First World War. The reverse features the quote 'The truth untold, the pity of war' from the haunting poem 'Strange meeting' by Wilfred Owen, while the obverse of the coin bears the fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.
The two pound gold coin - sometimes referred to as the Double Sovereign - contains 14.63 grams of gold (twice the weight of a Sovereign).
Due to their status as British Legal tender they are exempt from Capital Gains Tax, so they are a good choice for British investors.
This coin is provided in a plastic capsule only with no box or certificate.
