The American Double Eagle has a face value of $20. It is 0.9675 troy-ounce of fine gold and has a reeded edge.

Issued from 1849 to 1907, this $20 Double Eagle features the Liberty head design. Both sides of the coin were designed by James Barton Longacre, who was the fourth Chief Engraver of the United States Mint.
