Description

The 2023 Elizabeth Britannia quarter ounce gold coin, made of 24-carat gold (999.9 fineness).

BullionByPost is an official partner to The Royal Mint, and we source all of our new 2023 1/4oz gold Britannia coins directly from their refinery in Llantrisant, Wales.

The obverse of this coin uses the final portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, and will be a limited mintage for the remainder of 2022. A new range of King Charles III Britannia coins will then be released in the new year.

The reverse uses the updated Nathan design of Lady Britannia, with advanced security features introduced by the mint in 2021, making the 2023 1/4oz gold Britannia one of the most secure coins in the world.

The Britannia bullion coin contains a quarter of a troy ounce (7.775 grams) of fine gold and has a face value of £25. Due to their status as British Legal tender they are exempt from Capital Gains Tax..
