The 2023 Elizabeth Britannia half ounce gold coin, made of 24-carat gold (999.9 fineness).

The 1/2oz gold coin is graded to MS69 (FDC). A fully struck coin with nearly imperceptible imperfections.

The picture is taken of a coin of the stated grade. You may not receive the exact coin pictured, but it will be a coin of the same grade and will be graded and slabbed by the same numismatic grading service.

BullionByPost is an official partner to The Royal Mint, and we source all of our new 2023 1/2oz gold Britannia coins directly from their refinery in Llantrisant, Wales.

This will be the final Britannia coin to feature the final portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, and will be a limited mintage for the remainder of 2022. A new range of King Charles III Britannia coins will then be released in the new year.

The reverse of the coin continues to use the updated high-security design of Lady Britannia.

The 2023 1/2oz gold Britannia bullion coin contains half a troy ounce (15.55 grams) of fine gold and has a face value of £50. Due to their status as British Legal tender they are exempt from Capital Gains Tax..
