2023 1/10oz Gold Britannia Coin Queen Elizabeth II

The 2023 Britannia 1/10oz is a British gold coin, minted by the Royal Mint. The weight of the coin is 3.126 grams with a fineness of 999.9 (24 carat gold), this means it contains 3.11035 grams of pure gold. The diameter of the coin is 16.55 mm. The 1/10oz Britannias have a face value of 10 Pounds and are legal tender in the UK.

Obverse: The obverse of the Queen Elizabeth II 2023 Britannia 1/10oz Gold Coin features the fifth head portrait, designed by Jody Clark. This effigy of Queen Elizabeth II shows her profile facing right, wearing the diamond crown. It is the fifth official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to be used on coins minted by the Royal Mint. The sculptor's initials, 'J.C', are visible at the bottom of the head.

The inscription on the coin reads 'ELIZABETH II.D.G.REG.F.D'.

Reverse: The reverse of the 2023 1/10oz Gold Britannia features the classic figure of Lady Britannia, designed by Philip Nathan, with the text 'NATHAN' at the bottom of the coin.

This will be the last 1/10oz gold Britannia coin to feature Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and will be a limited mintage for the remainder of 2022. A new range of King Charles III Britannia coins will then be released in the new year.

Due to their status as British Legal tender they are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
