2024 1/4oz Gold Britannia Coin

The 2024 Britannia 1/4oz is a British gold coin, minted by the Royal Mint. The weight of the coin is 7.775 grams with a fineness of 999.9 (24 carat gold), this means it contains 7.77587 grams of pure gold. The diameter of the coin is 22.05 mm. The 1/4oz Britannias have a face value of 25 Pounds and are legal tender in the UK.

Obverse: The obverse of the King Charles III 2024 Britannia 1/4oz Gold Coin features the King's official portrait, designed by Martin Jennings. This effigy of King Charles III shows his profile facing left, without a crown. This is the first official portrait of Charles III to be used on coins minted by The Royal Mint. The sculptor's initials, 'M.J.', are visible at the bottom of the head.

The inscription on the coin reads 'CHARLES III.D.G.REX.F.D'.

Reverse: The reverse of the 2024 1/4oz Gold Britannia features the classic figure of Lady Britannia, designed by Philip Nathan, with the text 'NATHAN' at the bottom of the coin.

The reverse uses the updated Nathan design of Lady Britannia with advanced security features such as micro detailed waves in the images background and a holographic image which alternates between a padlock and a trident. All this makes the 2024 1/4oz gold Britannia one of the most secure bullion coins in the world.

The Britannia bullion coin contains a quarter of a troy ounce (7.775 grams) of fine gold and has a face value of £25 making it exempt from Capital Gains Tax in the UK.
