A scarce coin. An 1820 gold Sovereign graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) to VF30.
The 1820 gold Sovereign coin features the laureate head portrait of George III by Pistrucci on the Obverse, and the George & Dragon design by Pistrucci on the reverse.
Text reads "GEORGIUS III D:G" , "BRITANNIAR:REX F:D" "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE". Versions of this coin with the year printed in a smaller font or with a smaller "0" for the year are rarer and attract a premium.
