The 2022 Lion of England Proof 1oz gold coin is the second Proof release in the new Royal Tudor Beasts Collection from The Royal Mint. Like the Queen's Beasts series, the collection will feature 10 'Beasts', this time consisting of statues that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court.
The Lion of England is of course one of Britain's most iconic symbols, and remained so throughout the Tudor period. The statue is one of the first to line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court, and bears a shield with the combined arms of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour.
This coin contains one troy ounce of pure 999.9 gold. As with other coins from The Royal Mint, it is considered legal tender and is therefore exempt from Capital Gains Tax. It will also be VAT-free as investment gold.
This Proof one ounce (31.1g) coin is presented in a handsome presentation box and comes with a certificate of authenticity and full colour booklet.
