The 2024 Seymour Unicorn 1oz platinum coin is the fourth bullion release in the Royal Tudor Beasts Collection from The Royal Mint, which features 10 'Beasts', consisting of statues that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court.
Designed by David Lawrence, the reverse side of the coin showcases the Seymour Unicorn bearing the six-quartered Arms of Jane Seymour. This design is not only for visual appeal but also enhances security features as a protection against counterfeiting. The obverse side of the coin presents the official coinage portrait of His Majesty The King by Martin Jennings.
The 2024 Seymour Unicorn coin contains exactly 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams) of pure 999.5 platinum. As with other coins from The Royal Mint it is considered legal tender with a face value of £100. It is therefore exempt from Capital Gains Tax. The coin will be in production for a few months until the next coin in the series is released, so collectors should purchase as soon as possible if they wish to get all coins in the series.
