The 2025 American Buffalo is an American gold coin, minted by the United States Mint. The weight of the coin is 31.1 grams with a fineness of 999.9 (24 carat gold), this means it contains 31.10348 grams of pure gold. The diameter of the coin is 32.7 mm. The American Buffalos have a face value of 50 Dollars and are legal tender in America.

Obverse: The obverse of the 2025 American Buffalo 1 Ounce depicts the profile of a Native American, designed by James Earle Fraser. It first appeared in 1913 on the Buffalo Nickel and is roughly based on the Native American chieftains Iron Tail (Sioux), Big Tree (Kiowa), and Two Moons (Cheyenne), all of whom sat to be drawn by Fraser at different points in time. The sculptors initial 'F' appears on the neck of the portrait, below the year of issue.

The inscription on the coin reads 'LIBERTY'.

Reverse: The reverse of the 2025 American Gold Buffalo features an American Bison with the face value of 50 Dollars and the inscriptions 'UNITED.STATES.OF.AMERICA', 'E PLURIBUS UNUM', 'IN GOD WE TRUST', and '1 OZ .9999 FINE GOLD'. The image of an American Buffalo was taken from the Buffalo Nickel. It is heavily rumoured to be that of Black Diamond, a buffalo from Central Park Zoo during the early 20th century.
