Description

A one ounce American Eagle gold coin from 2006. Graded by NGC to grade MS69 (FDC).
The picture is taken of a coin of the stated grade. You may not receive the exact coin pictured, but it will be a coin of the same grade and will be graded and slabbed by the same numismatic grading service.

Produced by the United States Mint and introduced in 1986, the 1oz gold Eagle coin is struck in 22-carat gold (.9167) and contains 31.10 grams of pure gold.

The obverse design of the Gold Eagle features Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch and an olive branch. It was originally produced by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the US Mint's limited edition Double Eagle coins in the early 1900s.

The reverse design, produced by Miley Tucker-Frost (née Busiek), features a male eagle carrying an olive branch, protecting a nest containing a female eagle and her hatchlings.

The coin is official legal tender in the United States of America, with a government-backed value of $50.
