Description

A one ounce American Eagle gold coin from 2019.

Produced by the United States Mint and introduced in 1986, the 1oz gold Eagle coin is struck in 22-carat gold (.9167) and contains 31.10 grams of pure gold.

The obverse design of the gold Eagle features Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch and an olive branch. It was originally produced by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the US Mint's limited edition Double Eagle coins in the early 1900s.

The reverse design, produced by Miley Tucker-Frost (née Busiek), features a male eagle carrying an olive branch, protecting a nest containing a female eagle and her hatchlings.

The coin is official legal tender in the United States of America, with a government-backed value of $50.
