Description

This beautiful coin is the fifth of a series of ten that feature the "Queen's Beasts". The fifth coin features the Black Bull of Clarence - the Bull is holding a shield which contains golden lions of England as well as golden lilies of France.

The coin is fine Gold and weighs one ounce (31.1 grams). The Royal Mint issued an initial 5,000 coins, though the Queen's Beast series is officially of unlimited mintage until the end of the year of issue.

This coin has a face value of £100 and just like other British currency, this coin will be exempt of any Capital Gains Tax when you are ready to sell.

The Queen's Beasts are ten statues which stood guard for the Queen's Coronation, sculpted by James Woodford RA in 1953. The Queen's Beasts are still standing, but are currently housed at the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec, Canada. Stone replicas of the statues can be found at Kew Gardens.
