A very rare, possibly unique, hammered gold Half Noble of King Edward III, struck between the years 1361 and 1369. The obverse features the King standing on ship at sea, holding sword in hand and shield of royal arms. The reverse shows ornate cross with crowns over lions in the angles, with a centre 'E' representing it was struck at the London mint. This coin is in about extremely fine grade, with two very small edge flan cracks, which are hardly noticeable. This Edward the third Half Noble has stunning 'eye' appeal, and would make an excellent addition to any numismatic collection and deserves further research.
