A rare, collectable hammered silver Groat of King Edward the Third struck between the years 1369 and 1377. The obverse features the crowned facing bust with an unusual legend wording, with the mint mark of 'cross pattee'. The reverse shows the long cross with three pellets in the quarters and the wording for being struck at the London mint. This period is known as the post treaty, which was when England had a treaty with France to mint coins in Calais. This coin in good fine grade and full flan with out clipping has good eye appeal.
