A collectable grade silver Threepence of Queen Elizabeth I. This coin, of the first milled issue, has the tall narrow bust, facing right. Dated 1562, with the "Star" mint mark. The reverse has the square topped shield, with date 1562 above. This coin was produced in a screw press, in a horse drawn mill. The technique became known as "Mill" money and became the first milled coinage of England, in which machinery took over from being hand struck.
