A collectable hammered silver penny of King James the First with the mint mark of Thistle indicating being struck either in 1703 or 1604 at the London mint, from the first issue coinage. The obverse features crowned bust facing right with 'I' behind for denomination of penny and the reverse shows square topped shield of royal arms and the mint mark above. This coin in around fine condition with mid grey even tone, slightly buckled but does not deter for a scarcer penny.
