A collectable sixpence of James I with the mintmark escallop for the year 1606 of the second coinage and the fourth bust facing right. The reverse shows a square topped shield bearing the Royal Arms with the date 1606 above. This coin was minted 3 years after James I was crowned king of England uniting the crowns of England and Scotland, the text around the edge on the reverse 'QVAE DEVS CONIVNXIT NEMO SEPARET' references this in its meaning 'what God has joined together let no man put asunder'.
