A collectable hammered silver Shilling of King James I, struck between the years 1621 and 1623 indicated by the mintmark of a Thistle. The obverse features the sixth crowned and bearded bust facing right, with 'XII' behind in Roman numerals indicating the value of a Shilling (twelve-pence). The reverse shows the square-topped shield of Royal Arms representing England, Scotland and Ireland. This coin in around very fine grade with a strong bold portrait of the king, would make an excellent addition to any numismatic collection.
