A silver Crown coin of King William III, dated 1696. William the third, ruled alone from 1694-1702, following the death of his wife Mary. With the circulating currency in poor condition, he authorised a complete re-coinage which included these historic Crowns. Solid silver Crowns dated 1695 and 1696 bear the portrait of William III on the obverse, and a crowned coat of arms on the reverse.

Obverse
William III bust.

Reverse
Crowned Cruciform Shields.
