A very rare, high-grade silver Halfcrown of King William III dated 1698/7. The obverse features the first draped bust facing right. The reverse shows the crowned cruciform shields of arms representing England, Scotland, Ireland and France. This silver Crown in very fine condition with the clear rare date '8' over '7' variation, which only recently came to light thanks to Laurie Bamford in the 1970s. It will be hard to find another example.
