Description

This 1996 Year of the Rat 1oz gold coin is part of an annual release in Australia. These coins are issued by the Perth Mint to celebrate the Chinese Lunar Calendar, so each year features the respective animal from the cycle of twelve. The Year of the Rat was issued in 1996.

This fine gold coin contains one ounce of gold (999.9 fineness) so it does make an interesting and ideal alternative to investing in the more common bullion coins.
