The 1987 Two Pound Gold Proof Coin boxed - sometimes referred to as the Double Sovereign - contains 14.63 grams of gold (twice the weight of a Gold Sovereign). This 22-carat gold coin comes with box and certificate.
Due to their status as British Legal tender they are Capital Gains Tax Free (CGT Exempt), so they are a good choice for British investors.
The front of the coin features the third portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf, while the back of the coin sports the traditional St George and the dragon design, created in 1817 by Benedetto Pistrucci.
