The 2014 gold proof Fifty Pence piece is a 22 carat coin released by the Royal Mint to celebrate the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. This 50p proof coin comes boxed with a certificate and is one of only 260 coins produced in this design.

Alex Loudon's design won the Royal Mint's competition - one of several efforts entered into the contest by designers at the agency Tangerine. His artwork features a cyclist and a runner mixed into the Scottish flag - the Saltire. The lettering used for the words 'Glasgow Commonwealth Games' was inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh; a Glaswegian artist and architect.
