A 2002 gold Proof Sovereign coin from The Royal Mint. The 2002 version features a unique design, which is sought after by collectors. This coin weighs the same as a regular sovereign, at 7.98g and 22 carat gold (91.67% fineness).
This proof has been struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has extra clarity. Complete with its own booklet/Certificate of Authenticity. Bound in a good looking Royal Mint case.
