The coin features a new reverse image designed by Natasha Muhl showing a Kookaburra perched on a bird bath. On the obverse of the 2022 1 kilo silver coin is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the coin's value of 30 Australian dollars.
The Kookaburra bird is native to Australia, related to the Kingfisher. The design on this coin varies from year to year with the Perth Mint performing slight alterations to keep their coin selection varied for collectors and investors alike
