The 2023 Wombat 1oz silver coin is a commemorative coin honouring the iconic Australian marsupial known for its burrowing abilities. The reverse design on the Australian Wombat changes every year, with this year's design depicting a dozing wombat amidst flowering billy buttons, with a blue fairywren perched on its back. It includes inscriptions of 'WOMBAT,' The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark, weight, purity, and the year-date. A micro-laser engraved letter provides an authentication feature, ensuring its genuineness and deterring counterfeiting.
The obverse side showcases the official Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy with the dates '1952 - 2022' denoting her reign. The coin's monetary denomination is also displayed. With its detailed design, security features, and tribute to Australian wildlife, this coin is makes a wonderful addition to any collection.
The coin is produced by the Perth Mint in 9999 purity with one troy ounce of silver (31.1 grams), production is limited to 25,000 coins.
