Description

The limited-edition 2020 1oz Proof silver Britannia coin. If you are looking for a unique gift that can be kept for a lifetime, this silver proof coin is ideal.

The 2020 1oz proof Britannia is beautifully finished to proof standard in 999 silver. Designed by David Lawrence, the Proof coin shows Britannia standing confidently next to a lion. The silver coin is presented inside a Royal Mint case with a booklet describing the history of Britannia.

The edge of the coin states its value, as well as the abbreviated Latin D G REG F D which, expanded, says Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensatrix. The direct English translation is 'By the grace of God, Queen' and 'Defender of the Faith' - the latter part being a reference to Elizabeth II's status as head of the Church of England.
