The 2025 Britannia 1oz silver coin, containing 31.1 grams of fine silver at a purity of 999 parts per thousand. It is sourced directly from the Royal Mint's refinery in Llantrisant, Wales and is sure to continue to be a favourite choice for silver investors.
We expect that the design on the reverse of the 2025 1oz silver Britannia will feature the classic image of Lady Britannia, goddess of Roman mythology and the personification of Britain, holding a shield and trident. Since 2021 the design has included advanced security features making Royal Mint silver Britannia coins among the most secure bullion coins in the world. We expect the 2025 silver Britannia design to continue this level of security, perhaps using the same Philip Nathan design seen in the past few years. The obverse is expected to feature the official portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings.
Like all 1oz silver Britannia coins, the 2025 silver Britannia will be a UK legal tender coin with a value of £2, making it exempt from Capital Gains Tax (CGT).
