Description

The 2025 Greyhound of Richmond 2oz silver coin is the seventh bullion coin in The Royal Mint's Royal Tudor Beasts collection. Inspired by the ten stone beasts lining the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace, the series celebrates the heraldic emblems chosen by Henry VIII to represent his ancestry and authority. The Greyhound of Richmond was a personal symbol of the king's connection to the House of Lancaster and signified traits such as fidelity, loyalty, and courage.

The reverse of the 2025 Tudor Greyhound 2oz silver coin, designed by David Lawrence, features a reinterpretation of the greyhound in a heraldic pose, inspired by the original stone carvings. The background incorporates a subtle surface animation, providing both aesthetic enhancement and a modern security feature that deters counterfeiting. The obverse bears the effigy of King Charles III.

Struck in two ounces of 999.9 fine silver, this coin is UK legal tender and qualifies for exemption from Capital Gains Tax. Its combination of historical symbolism, contemporary design, and tax advantages make it an attractive option for long-term silver investment.
