A very desirable cased silver Proof set of 6 coins from the Crown to the Threepence of King George V, dated 1927. These coins have a light matching attractive tone with some lustre, in great uncirculated condition in there original Royal Mint red box of issue. Back in the time of King George V the Royal Mint did not issue Proof sets unless for a special occasion.
In this case there was only 15,030 sets struck to celebrate the re-introduction of the classic British silver Crown that was last struck in 1902 under King Edward VII. This new design Crown known as the "Wreath" type, has become infamous amongst coin collectors along with a short period of date issues 1927 to 1936 and low mintages are proving themselves popular investments.
