The 1996 American proof five dollar gold coin, celebrating the 1996 Olympic Games - held in Atlanta - and 100 years since the birth of the modern Olympics.
The obverse side was designed by Frank Gasparro and modelled by T. James Ferrell. It features an athlete carrying the Olympic torch and lighting the Olympic cauldron, as well as the initials of USA and the five Olympic rings beneath it.
The reverse, designed by William J. Krawczewicz and modelled by Thomas D. Rogers Sr, features the Atlanta Olympic logo flanked by laurel leaves.
