Description

AN13 20 French Francs gold coin. It features the bare head of Napoleon (I) and the reverse has a wreath, which surrounds the value. The year is below the wreath. The text on the obverse reads "NAPOLEON EMPEREUR" and on the reverse it reads "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE". The 'A' mintmark indicates that the coin was minted in Paris.

After the French Revolution in 1789, a new currency, the Franc, and a new calendar were introduced. The year AN13 corresponds to the period between 23 September 1804 - 22nd September 1805 in the Gregorian calendar.
