A very collectable, high-grade, hammered gold Laurel of King James I. The obverse features the fourth laureate bust in armour, facing left, with "XX" representing 20 shillings. The reverse shows a long-cross over the Royal Shield of Arms. The mint mark of "Trefoil" represents the minting date of 1613 which is the last recorded year when "heretics" were burned at the stake in England.
