Description

This coin was struck in 1998 celebrating the humanitarian personality of the year -Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Al Ketbi - the third wife of the first president of the UAE.

Her image does not feature however as women are not permitted to appear on coinage - instead there is the bust of her late husband Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his toughra (a calligraphic signature).

She is known for her efforts to further Women's right in the region.

Struck in 22ct gold this coin weighs exactly 20 grams.
