Description

Another new addition to the silver Britannia series, the 2021 Britannia quarter ounce silver coin contains 7.775 grams of fine silver at a purity of 999 parts per thousand.

The classic Britannia design by sculptor Philip Nathan has been a feature of The Royal Mint's Britannia coins since they were first released in 1987. It is now available on this brand-new quarter ounce silver coin.

The 2021 silver Britannia coins are part of the first generation of new extra-secure bullion coins with added security features built into the design. The coin shows Britannia with a trident, and has a new background effect to mimic waves which doubles as an anti-counterfeit measure.

The obverse side of the coin bears Her Majesty the Queen's portrait, as created by Jody Clark and introduced in 2015. The Queen is wearing the King George IV State Diadem - the crown worn for the State Opening of Parliament - as well as special Diamond Jubilee drop pearl earrings.

As with all coins from The Royal Mint, these 2021 1/4oz silver Britannia's are British legal tender, with a face value of 50 pence. As such they are exempt from Capital Gains tax making them a great choice for British investors.
