The 2022 Britannia 1oz is a British gold coin, minted by the Royal Mint. The weight of the coin is 31.21 grams with a fineness of 999.9 (24 carat gold), this means it contains 31.10348 grams of pure gold. The diameter of the coin is 32.69 mm. The 1oz Britannias have a face value of 100 Pounds and are legal tender in the UK.

Britannia gold coins have been struck by the Royal Mint since 1987, when the series was launched to provide investors and collectors with a world-class British bullion coin. Drawing on one of the most iconic symbols in British history, the figure of Britannia has graced coinage for over two millennia, lending the series a sense of heritage and prestige that few other coins can match. Obverse: The obverse of the Queen Elizabeth II 2022 Britannia 1oz Gold Coin features the fifth head portrait, designed by Jody Clark. This effigy of Queen Elizabeth II shows her profile facing right, wearing the diamond crown. It is the fifth official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to be used on coins minted by the Royal Mint. The sculptor's initials, 'J.C', are visible at the bottom of the head.

The inscription on the coin reads 'ELIZABETH II.D.G.REG.F.D'.

Reverse: The reverse of the 2022 1oz Gold Britannia features the classic figure of Lady Britannia, designed by Philip Nathan, with the text 'NATHAN' at the bottom of the coin.
