The 2025 1oz Britannia gold coin contains 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams) of pure gold, and is sure to remain one of the first choices for all investors. It is sourced directly from The Royal Mint's refinery in Llantrisant, Wales.
We expect that the design on the reverse of the 2025 1oz gold Britannia will feature the classic image of Lady Britannia, goddess of Roman mythology and the personification of Britain, holding a shield and trident. Since 2021 the design has included advanced security features making Royal Mint gold Britannia coins among the most secure bullion coins in the world. We expect the 2025 design to continue this level of security, perhaps using the same Philip Nathan design seen in the past few years. The obverse is expected to feature the official portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings.
Like all 1oz gold Britannia coins the 2025 Britannia will be a UK legal tender coin with a value of £100, making it exempt from Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and VAT.
