Description

Our choice of Gold Proof 1oz Gold Britannia 1987–2012. There are several different designs we will select a coin at random. They are in good condition but may have some small marks and imperfections present on them. These marks and discolouration do not affect the bullion value of the coin, but it can make them less sought after as a collectable compared to mint condition proof coins. Coins minted in these years are struck in 22 carat Gold making them far more durable compared to the 24 carat versions minted 2013 onwards.

ALL Britannia 1oz coins contain one troy ounce (31.10 grams) of fine gold whether they are 22-carat or 24-carat. The 22 carat coins just weigh slightly more due to the alloy added. Face value is £100 - same as the 24ct Britannia.

Gold Britannias are the most popular 1 oz gold coin for larger UK based private investors as they are Capital Gains Tax Free (CGT Exempt).
