Description

The 2026 Queen's Lion 1oz gold coin is the eighth bullion release in the Royal Tudor Beasts Collection from The Royal Mint. The collection features the 10 'Beasts' statues that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court and which represent the families of the King's line.

Designed by David Lawrence, the reverse side of the coin features the Queen's Lion, a symbol of royal power and nobility. The Queen's Lion also holds a shield with the badge of Jane Seymour, Henry VIII's beloved third wife. This design is not only for visual appeal but also has enhanced security features as a protection against counterfeiting. The obverse side of the coin presents the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings.

The 2026 Queen's Lion 1oz gold coin contains exactly one troy ounce (31.1 grams) of pure 999.9 gold. As with other coins from The Royal Mint, it is considered legal tender with a face value of £100 and is exempt from Capital Gains Tax. It is also VAT-free as investment gold. The coin will be in production for a few months until the next coin in the series is released, so collectors should purchase as soon as possible in order to get all the coins of the series.

Number 8 of a series of 10, that will most likely have an 11th "completer" coin is a great investment, and far safer than in the bank for Rachel Thieves to tax or take. All beautifully made and just this coin alone has increased in value by over 4% this WEEK since I purchased it a week ago! You are lucky to get 4% per YEAR in a bank!
