The 2023 Britannia 1oz is a British gold coin, minted by the Royal Mint. The weight of the coin is 31.21 grams with a fineness of 999.9 (24 carat gold), this means it contains 31.10348 grams of pure gold. The diameter of the coin is 32.69 mm. The 1oz Britannias have a face value of 100 Pounds and are legal tender in the UK.

2023 King Charles III Coronation 1oz Britannia: To commemorate the coronation of King Charles III on 6 May 2023, The Royal Mint introduced a special edition of the Britannia bullion coin range. This sought-after coin, recognized and trusted worldwide, features a crowned portrait of the new King. A limited mintage of only 10,000 Coronation gold Britannias will ever be produced. Obverse: The obverse of the King Charles III 2023 Britannia 1oz Gold Coin features the King's coronation portrait, designed by Martin Jennings. This effigy of King Charles III shows his profile facing left, wearing the Tudor crown. The Tudor crown was the imperial and state crown of English monarchs from the time of Henry VIII until its destruction in 1649. Since then, it has been used in insignia as a symbol of the Crown and the British monarchy. It also appears on King Charles' personal cipher, the design of which was personally chosen by the King. This is the second official portrait of Charles III to be used on coins struck by the Royal Mint. The sculptor's initials, 'M.J.', are visible at the bottom of the head.

The inscription on the coin reads 'CHARLES III.D.G.REX.F.D'.

Reverse: The reverse of the 2023 1oz Gold Britannia features the classic figure of Lady Britannia, designed by Philip Nathan, with the text 'NATHAN' at the bottom of the coin.
