Description

The 2026 Royal Dragon 1oz gold coin is the ninth bullion release in The Royal Tudor Beasts Collection from The Royal Mint. The series draws on the ten heraldic beasts that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace, representing the lineage of Henry VIII.

Designed by David Lawrence, the reverse features the Royal Dragon, a symbol of Tudor strength and Welsh heritage, adopted by Henry VII. The design also incorporates subtle surface animation, adding an extra layer of security. The obverse bears the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings

Struck in 999.9 fine gold and carries a face value of £100, the coin is legal tender and therefore exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents. As with other releases in the series, production is limited, with each design available for a set period before the next is introduced.
