As the seventh bullion entry in the collection, this coin pays tribute to one of the ten heraldic beasts that stand guard over Hampton Court Palace. These symbolic figures were commissioned by Henry VIII and represent key familial and dynastic connections. The Greyhound of Richmond was adopted to honour Henry's Lancastrian heritage and has long been associated with loyalty, courage, and obedience.

The reverse design of the 2025 Tudor Greyhound 1oz platinum coin, by David Lawrence, presents a stylised and energetic portrayal of the greyhound, standing proud and dignified against a background of animated detailing. This surface animation effect not only enhances the visual complexity of the coin but also serves as a built-in security feature, reflecting The Royal Mint's integration of tradition and innovation.
