Description

The 2026 1oz Year of the Horse Proof silver coin from The Royal Mint's Shēngxiào Collection series of lunar coins.

This coin celebrates the Year of the Horse and the reverse of the coin features a design by William Webb of a thoroughbred horse galloping on the cobblestones of a British stable block. The obverse of the coin features the official portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings, as well as the coin's face value.

The horse in Chinese astrology is considered to be powerful and energetic, and those born under the horse are considered independent, brave, and full of vivacity. These coins would make a perfect gift for anyone born in the years 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, or 2026.

This 2026 Year of the Horse 1oz silver proof coin is struck in 999 fine silver. It is presented in a handsome presentation box and comes with a certificate of authenticity and full colour booklet on the Chinese lunar horse. As with other coins from The Royal Mint, it is considered legal tender and is therefore exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
