The Uruguay 5 Pesos Gold Coin 1930 is a collectible coin that was issued by the country of Uruguay in 1930. The coin is made of .917 fine gold, has a weight of 8.485 grams, and a diameter of 22mm. It contains 1/4oz (7.77g) of fine gold.
The obverse of the coin features the profile of General Jose Gervasio Artigas, who is considered to be the father of Uruguayan independence. The inscription "REPUBLICA ORIENTAL DEL URUGUAY" (Oriental Republic of Uruguay) is also present on the obverse.
The reverse of the coin features the national coat of arms of Uruguay, which consists of a sun with a face surrounded by 16 golden rays, a blue and white striped oval, and a laurel branch and an olive branch tied together by a blue ribbon. The denomination of "5 PESOS" and the year of issue, "1930," are inscribed on the reverse along with the text 'CENTENARIO DE 1830' celebrating 100 years from the signing of the country's constitution.
