Like all Sovereigns, the 2025 gold Double Sovereign coin is struck in 22-carat gold per tradition weighing 15.96 grams, and is both VAT-free and exempt from Capital Gains Tax, making the 2025 £2 Sovereign an excellent choice for investors who are looking for a larger version of this classic coin.
The mint have confirmed that this will be the final year that the Sovereign range uses a 'rose gold' alloy (used in modern Sovereigns), and will instead return to a yellow gold alloy from next year.
